944 Cup Joins with PCA Club Racing in 2016 - Press Release
The Series: For season 15, the 944 Cup is expanding by integrating with PCA Club Racing in 2016. The series is dedicated to the front engine watercooled Porsche, featuring competitive and clean racing with year end 944 Cup Regional and National Championships. The series includes 3 classes: SP1, SP2, and SP3. New for 2016, the series will have 944 Cup Nationals East and Nationals West Championships.
The Cars: Front-engine water cooled Porsches including the various models of the 924S, 944, 951 and 968. A turn key ready to race Porsche can be purchased to race in the series for under $10,000. More about the model 944 .
Where: 944 Cup Chapters now extend from the East Coast to the West Coast, visiting over 30 tracks including the best in the country, such as Watkins Glen, Road America, COTA, Daytona, Sebring and Road Atlanta. Adding 2 new Chapters, 2016 will feature five 944 Cup Chapters: North, South, Midwest, Southwest and West.
Getting Started: Most front engine Porsches racing in PCA, SCCA and NASA are eligible to race in the series with PCA. Most often your SCCA or NASA log book and race license will allow you to obtain the required PCA credentials to race the series. Display the 944 Cup windshield banner and you're ready to race with us.
Don't have a race license, we will help you get there. Just go to PCA License. Need a race prepared Porsche 944, we'll help you with getting one in the Cup classifeds.
